SPEARGUN CARE & INSTRUCTIONS

Proper speargun care and maintenance will help maximize performance, improve accuracy, and extend the lifespan of your equipment. Follow these recommendations to keep your teak speargun in excellent condition.

Avoid Sand and Impact

  • Do not drop your speargun onto sand or rough surfaces.
  • Sand particles can scratch the finish and interfere with the trigger mechanism.
  • Always place your speargun on a clean, stable surface when not in use.

Rinse with Fresh Water After Every Dive

Saltwater can be harsh on spearfishing equipment. After each use:

  • Thoroughly rinse the speargun with fresh water.
  • Avoid using cleaning chemicals or abrasive products.
  • Fresh water is all that is needed to clean your teak speargun safely.

Protect from Direct Sunlight

  • Do not leave the speargun to dry in direct sunlight.
  • Prolonged exposure to UV rays may affect the color and appearance of teak wood.

Store Completely Dry

Before storing your speargun:

  • Make sure all components are fully dry.
  • Store in a cool, dry place away from direct heat and moisture.

Restore the Teak Finish

Over time, teak wood may lose some of its original shine. To restore it:

  • Ensure the speargun is completely dry.
  • Apply a small amount of teak oil (such as Starbrite or a similar product) to a soft cloth.
  • Wipe the teak surface evenly.
  • The wood will absorb the oil and regain its rich appearance.

Lubricate the Mechanism

Occasionally apply a small drop of WD-40 or a similar lubricant to the mechanism to help keep moving parts operating smoothly.

Replace Worn Shooting Line

Inspect your shooting line regularly. If it becomes worn or damaged, replace it promptly to reduce the risk of losing the shaft during use.

Roller Speargun Line Setup

When replacing the line on a roller speargun, make sure it is tied to the ring located at the midpoint of the shaft. Proper setup is essential for maintaining precision and accuracy.

Bands and Shaft Replacement

When replacing bands or shafts:

  • Use the same dimensions and specifications supplied with your speargun.
  • Using non-approved sizes may void the speargun warranty.
  • If you are unsure about the correct specifications, please contact our team for assistance.
